Step 1: Install Taranaa Karaoke Player (TKP)

  • Install the latest version of TKP from http://taranaa.com/installer/TKPv332Installer.exe
  • Use all default settings. These are good for most users.
  • If you are having Windows Vista, install TKP in the folder C:\Taranaa.com, instead of the default installation folder C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com. Windows Vista has new security options called "User Account Control (UAC)" where it blocks access to modify files/options in your computer installed in the Program Files folder. This comes in the way of TKP when it tries to create your playlists. Alternately, you have to run TKP as an administrator.

Step 2: Register TKP

  • Before you can start using TKP, you need to register your player.
  • Start TKP, click Subscription Menu, then click Register.

Image:RegisterLink.jpg

  • Fill out the simple form and submit by clicking the Register button.
  • Ensure that you provide a valid email address. You cannot complete player registration using a dummy email address.

Image:RegistrationDialog.jpg

  • You will receive your player ID via email. Enter the player ID in the registration form and press the Complete button.

  • If you do not receive this email with your player ID, please check your junk mail or spam folders. Look for an email from info@taranaa.com. If you do not see this email, write to support@taranaa.com.

Step 3: Download Sample Tracks

  • Before you pay for your subscription, we would like you to test your installation by downloading and trying a few Sample Tracks.
  • Click the red Download button in TKP. Image:DownloadButton.jpg
  • If you get Message from Taranaa, read it and press the Close button to dissmiss it.
  • You will then see a Download A Track from Taranaa.com dialog box.
  • This dialog has 2 tabs: Sample Tracks and Subscription Tracks. The Sample Tracks tab is selected by default. The Subscription Tracks tab can be selected by clicking on it. You can view the complete list of Subscription tracks ready for download. You can download the Subscription Tracks only after getting a subscription license, as explained in Step 6 below.

Image:DownloadDialog.jpg

  • Click on a track title under Sample Tracks. Press OK button. This will start track download.
  • Watch the red vertical progress bar on the right hand side of TKP. Wait until this bar reaches 100% and you get a message saying that the track is added to your Sample Tracks playlist. You need to download a track only once. A track once downloaded can be played any number of times, even offline without being connected to the Internet.

Step 4: Select & Play Sample Tracks

In order to play a sample track, you have to select it from a list of Sample Tracks that you have downloaded so far.

  • Click the red Select button in TKP.Image:SelectButton.jpg
  • You will get a dialog box Select A Track For Playback
  • Click on a track title and press the OK button

Step 5: Buy Subscription

  • Once you have tested your installation and tried a few Sample Tracks, you are ready to buy a subscription and obtain a subscription license
  • Click the Subscription Menu, then click Get License

Image:GetLicense.jpg

  • This will bring up Internet Explorer and take you to Taranaa License Server.
  • If Internet Explorer is not your default web browser, you can visit this link and enter your email ID and player ID number (pin) that you used for registration. Press the Login button to access Taranaa License Server.
  • Click on a suitable BuyNow button. There are 5 levels of subcription as detailed on the Setup & Rates page.
  • Complete your online credit card payment using a Visa, MasterCard or PayPal.
  • On completing your online payment, you will instantly receive a "tkp.license" file via auto-generated email. 'Taranaa Keyboard Tutor subscribers will receive a "tkt.license" file.
  • If you pay using PayPal's eCheck, your payment will take 4-5 business days for clearing. Your license will be sent automatically as soon as your payment is cleared.

Step 6: Save License File

  • Download the license file from your email and save it in the player installation folder, which by default is C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com folder.
  • Here are some screenshots of Internet Explorer Save Attachment dialog. First select Local Disk (C:) as shown below.

Image:SaveLicense1.jpg

  • Then double click Program Files folder to open it.

Image:SaveLicense2.jpg

  • Then double click Taranaa.com folder to open it.

Image:SaveLicense3.jpg

  • Finally press the Save button to save the tkp.license file in the C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com folder.
  • After saving your license file in the player installation folder, restart TKP. If you do not get any error message, you have successfully installed the license and are all set to download Subscription Tracks.

License Problem: Error Messages

  • When you start TKP, if you get an error message titled UNLICENSED PLAYER, you have not saved the tkp.license file in the player installation folder, which by default is C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com. Using Windows Explorer, open the folder C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com and verify that the tkp.license file is saved in this folder. The file size is approximately 375 bytes.
  • When you start TKP, if you get an eror message titled INVALID LICENSE, most likely something has changed on your computer between the time you registered the player and when you purchased a license. In this situation, you will have to delete the file registration.txt residing in the folder C:\Program Files\Taranaa.com. Restart TKP and complete player registration. You will receive a new player ID. Write to support@taranaa.com requesting a new license for your new player ID.
